S-130/190: Basic Firefighting Training
What You Will Learn
S-130/S-190 is designed to provide entry level firefighter skills. Many of the units are set up so they are taught in the classroom and the field. Credit is issued for S-190, S-130, and L-180 upon completion of this course.
Course prerequisites - FEMA ICS-100 & ICS-700 and NWCG L-180.

2026 Spring Eastern Kansas Wildland Fire School
The Johnson County Community College in partnership with the Kansas Forest Service, and the Johnson County Fire & Emergency Services Chief's Association proudly presents the Second Annual Spring Eastern Kansas Wildland Fire School. This program is designed for those passionate about their career or establishing a career in wildland firefighting, a profession offering diverse job experiences and invaluable skills. The Wildland Fire School hosts academy sessions to provide quality operational wildland firefighting courses required for qualifications based and in accordance with National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) Standards.
