NARS: BNSF - Maintenance of Way Operating Rules - Refresher (MWOR-R)

What You Will Learn

This course is the annual refresher of the content covered in Maintenance of Way Operating Rules. The course provides the opportunity for qualified roadway workers to stay current and up-to-date on key elements of CFR 214. Upon completion of the course, contractors will still be required to have their On Track Protection provided by BNSF employees.

Prerequisites:

NARS: BNSF Maintenance of Way Operating Rules - NARS: BNSF Maintenance of Way Operating Rules Refresher course from the previous year.

Testing Guidelines: Students receive two attempts to achieve a passing score of 80%. If student scores 80% or better, the student has passed the first attempt. If student scores less than 80%, the student will have one opportunity to retake the exam. After the exam retake, if the student receives a passing score, then their score shall be recorded as the minimum passing score for the exam (example: If the test requires an 80% to pass and after retaking the entire exam, the student scores a 90%, you will record their score as an 80% for tracking and paperwork purposes). If the student does not receive a passing score, he/she will not be given a certificate of completion and will need to retake the course again in its entirety.

Successful students of the course will receive a Certificate of Completion.

(Refresher training will be required by December 31st of the next calendar year to stay current.)

Required Equipment for class: Bring your MWOR Rules Book (it is updated several times a year).

A current version must be brought to class, as it is not provided. Updates to the BNSF - Maintenance of Way Operating Rules are published on the 1st of the month.

If a student attends the course without a 'rule book' or with outdated rules, they are welcome to attend and test (without the rule book or with their outdated book). If the student does not score an 80% or better they should refer to the Testing Guidelines listed above.
