Impressions of Hawaii in Acrylic
What You Will Learn
Ready to shake off the winter blues? Capture the vibrant beauty of Hawaii’s coastlines, mountains, and tropical waters while exploring the luminous world of Impressionist painting. Inspired by Claude Monet and other early French masters, this four-week course guides students—beginner through advanced—through the foundations and techniques of the Impressionist style. Along the way, you’ll build skills in color mixing, brushwork, and composition as you develop your own expressive approach. By the end of the course, you’ll complete a full acrylic painting on canvas that reflects both your progress and your personal interpretation of the islands.- Acrylic Paint Set - High quality, thick bodied paint is recommended.

- Yellow Ochre
- Raw Umber
- Titanium White
- Payne’s Gray
- Acrylic Brushes - Exact brush types/sizes can be substituted for similar size/type
- Round 1, Round 6,
- Bright 6
- Filbert 8, and Flat 12.
- Stretched Canvas, Gesso Board, Canvas board - pre-primed with Gesso
- 11x14 or larger. Students can choose a larger canvas’, but will require more paint.
