Draw Like Michelangelo: Renaissance Figure Drawing

In this class, the following topics and skills will be covered:
1.    Face - human skull, eyes, lips, mouth, and the other difficult elements that make up the face. Students will work on multiple studies in this class, with a final culmination of drawing a human portrait.
2.    Body Composition - movement, foreshortening, artistic manipulation of the human form. Students will practice gesture, capturing rapid movement of subjects. Techniques, and formal structural breakdown of the human form will teach students proper body composition. Students will complete the class with a lifelike drawing of a human subject.
3.    Hands and Feet - Arguably the most difficult part of the human anatomy. The hand and foot are complex with multiple joints of articulation, plains, and surfaces. Students will break down hand/foot anatomy, and complete the class with an interesting composition of hands in complex positions. 

Students will need the following:
1. Conte crayon drawing set (red, brown, white, black) 
2. Charcoal set
3. Strathmore drawing paper 300 weight 19" x 24"
4. Kneaded eraser
5. Blending tools
6. Masking/painters tape
7. A drawing board
