MIG Welding II Short Course
What You Will Learn
The student will continue to build upon skills learned in MIG Welding Level I to perform more advanced welds. Skills in welding in selected positions on a variety of metal thicknesses in vertical and overhead welding positions will be further developed. Flux core arc welding (FCAW) will also be covered.
Students will be required to purchase and use personal protective equipment (PPE). The following items are required:
- Welding Helmet, with #10 Lens
- Welding Cap
- Safety Glasses
- Gloves
- No tennis shoes or sandals. Must wear closed toe shoes/boots.
- No shorts or short sleeves allowed in lab. Must wear jeans and cotton long sleeve shirt.
Certification
MIG Welding Certificate
The most common industrial welding process used in welding plate and large bore pipe. MIG (Metal Inert Gas) uses shielding gas along with an electrode which heats up the two metals to be joined.
The nation's aging infrastructure has sparked a demand for welders in industries such as, construction, manufacturing, and oil and gas. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics well-trained welders can make more than $66,000 per year. Our Welding Certificate can enhance your current career or position you to enter the workforce as a well-rounded welder or specialized in a singular process.
