This includes applying learned skills in equipment set-up and care, selection of proper materials, review power sources and polarities, modes of filler metal transfer, filler metal identification and use and conduct welding procedures as directed for flat groove welds (1G) and horizontal fillet welds (2F). Students will be required to purchase and use personal protective equipment (PPE). The following items are required:

  • Welding Helmet, with #10 Lens

Certification

MIG Welding Certificate

The most common industrial welding process used in welding plate and large bore pipe. MIG (Metal Inert Gas) uses shielding gas along with an electrode which heats up the two metals to be joined.

The nation's aging infrastructure has sparked a demand for welders in industries such as, construction, manufacturing, and oil and gas. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics well-trained welders can make more than $66,000 per year. Our Welding Certificate can enhance your current career or position you to enter the workforce as a well-rounded welder or specialized in a singular process.
