Basic Rider Course - Skills Practice
What You Will Learn
Has it been a while since you last rode a motorcycle and the open road is calling? Are you recently licensed and looking for a little more practice and coaching? Join us for this half-day skills refresher, where fun, focused drills reinforce the skills needed for the streets. Join fellow riders on the motorcycle range using college-provided motorcycles to build your confidence on two wheels.
ATTENTION: Motorcycle forms need to be completed during class on the first day. A parent or guardian will need to be present at the beginning of the first class to sign for participants under the age of 18. Student must have a valid license and motorcycle endorsement on their driver's license.
You are required to wear the following clothing during EVERY range session:
• A DOT approved helmet (one will be provided if you do not have your own)
• Eye protection, including non-tinted face shields, sunglasses, goggles, or glasses
• Long sleeve shirt or jacket
• Long pants, preferably jeans or leather (not baggy)
• Over-the-ankle boots or shoes (not athletic shoes or rain boots)
• Full-fingered gloves
You will not be permitted to participate in range sessions without proper riding gear.
Safety is our primary concern; students will be dismissed from the course if they present a danger to their own safety or the safety of others during any exercise or evaluation in the course.
