What You Will Learn
You'll be creating a website with posts, multiple pages, and a menu on the WordPress.com platform using a class project. You can use the skills learned to build or maintain your own WordPress website. You will use the JCCC virtual hosting system to simulate the internet.
Add and optimize images to pages and posts. Review, install, and modify the class-designated WordPress themes. Navigate a theme customizer for the website. Learn page layouts with the block editor, and a page builder. Discuss how WordPress is as a content management system. Modify the CSS behind a theme. Add media e.g. (galleries, videos, or podcasts). Review, Install, and set up Plugins for SEO, Forms, Backups, and more. Learn how WordPress includes users, comments and take advantage of RSS feed technology to make your website social. Learn about WordPress.com, WordPress.org, and the WordPress application dashboard.
While we won't be working on your own personal or business website in class, you will be able to apply what you learned to build or maintain your own WordPress website.
