Still Life Painting from Direct Observation
What You Will Learn
The course covers the basics of oil painting or acrylic painting, including materials, techniques, and general painting issues. Each week, through still life painting, you will explore foundational techniques such as observing your object, value study, color mixing, color theory, mediums, relationships among the parts and the whole, space, edge, brushwork, dimension, composition, and paint application.Students are responsible for bringing:
Oil Paint: (any brand), Similar color for Acrylic paint.
Titanium White (Buy several 37 ml tubes or one 150 ml tube)
Cadmium Lemon Yellow
Yellow Ochre
Burnt Sienna
Cadmium Orange
Cadmium Red light
Alizarin Crimson
Permanent rose
Ultramarine Blue
Prussian Blue
